Dance Movement Psychotherapy, sometimes called Dance Therapy, is a form of psychotherapy that uses movement and dance as a means of communication and expression. It’s based on the idea that movement reflects inner emotional states and that by exploring these movements, individuals can gain insight, release tension, and foster healing.

DMP is not about learning dance routines or mastering choreography—it’s about connecting with the body in a way that promotes self-awareness and emotional resilience. Sessions may include improvisation, guided movement, breath work, or simple gestures that help express what words cannot.
